Controller – Manufacturing & Technology

My client is a rapidly growing technology company operating at the intersection of precision engineering, innovation, and scalable manufacturing.

As we continue to expand our product portfolio and operational footprint, we are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller who can bring financial discipline, operational leadership, and systems integration expertise to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, or Assistant Controller who has worked across all areas of accounting and enjoys building processes, improving systems, and helping a growing organization scale successfully.

We are looking for someone who has truly been involved in all sides of accounting — AP, AR, payroll, month-end, year-end, budgeting, reporting, and operational support. There is a strong “get it done” mentality within the organization, and strategic leadership naturally develops over time through experience and partnership with the business.

Position Summary

This accounting leader will oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, ERP optimization, and internal process development while partnering closely with leadership across operations, engineering, manufacturing, and outsourced HR support functions.

This role combines day-to-day accounting leadership with longer-term process improvement and operational scalability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Leadership

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls within a manufacturing environment
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial reporting dashboards
  • Monitor and implement cost controls across operations and manufacturing
  • Support inventory accounting, costing, BOM accuracy, and manufacturing financial processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax partners, and outsourced providers as needed
  • Mentor and help develop the accounting function to create long-term continuity and scalability

ERP & Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the internal owner of the ERP system, including ongoing optimization and process improvement
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams
  • Help improve workflows, reporting structures, and system integrations to reduce manual work and increase visibility
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives tied to reporting, inventory, costing, and operational efficiency

Operational & Strategic Partnership

  • Work directly with senior leadership to support strategic growth initiatives
  • Assist in creating scalable infrastructure, processes, and accountability across the organization
  • Support outsourced HR service coordination and related administrative functions
  • Operate as a highly collaborative business partner within a rapidly evolving environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or technology environments
  • Strong hands-on experience across AP, AR, payroll, close process, budgeting, and operational accounting
  • Experience leading or supporting ERP implementations and system optimization efforts
  • Understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory, costing, and operational finance
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving company environment
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a willingness to jump into both strategic and tactical responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

  • A hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building and improving processes
  • Someone comfortable wearing multiple hats in a growing organization
  • A proactive professional who brings accountability, urgency, and operational ownership
  • An individual who can grow into broader strategic leadership as the company continues to scale

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a high-growth manufacturing technology company where you can make a direct impact on both the financial infrastructure and long-term success of the organization.
