We are partnering with a thriving company North of Boston to recruit a Controller. You will own accounting operations, financial reporting, and daily treasury management.
This position will be tasked with improving and automating processes and accounting systems maximizing efficiency and strengthen controls.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements. Own GL maintenance, bank reconciliations, and complex month-end accruals.
- Cash Management: Lead weekly cash forecast review, managing bank line-of-credit draws/paydowns, cash flow optimization, and daily online banking administration.
- Manage full cycle AP/AR workflow
- M&A & Purchase Accounting: Support opening balance sheet workstreams and purchase accounting acquisitions, managing fixed asset registers and step-up depreciation schedules.
- Audit, Tax & Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for annual external audits. Oversee quarterly estimated taxes, sales/use tax, 1099/W-2 issuance, and certified payroll filings for prevailing-wage jobs.
Ideal Profile
- Must be willing to 'roll up your sleeves' and perform end to end accounting
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA is preferred
- Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of GAAP, GL, and cash flow forecasting.
- Prior experience with job-costing or WIP
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- A proactive problem solver who closes the loop, brings recommendations, and exercises strong independent judgment.
- Experience working with modern ERPs, integrated payroll systems, and automated board reporting tools.
