KanPak has an exciting impactful role for a Plant Controller. This role serves as the finance leader for the facility, leading the accounting team and partnering with operations leadership to drive profitability, cost performance, inventory management, internal controls, and working capital optimization.
Duties / Responsibilities
Main responsibilities of the job. This can also include day-to-day activities
- Plans and directs the Divisions’ accounting functions to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and to meet GSF and division performance objectives
- Leads the facility’s cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, BOM integrity, absorption costing, and manufacturing performance analysis.
- Partners closely with the Operations Management, Supply Chain, and Procurement leaders to improve operational performance, productivity, and profitability.
- Directs the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Directs and conducts various special projects and feasibility studies for new products, new customers, or business opportunities to meet corporate strategic objectives
- Oversees periodic financial reporting to ensure timely, accurate, and thorough information for division and corporate management on working capital and capital spending, and to protect company assets
- Provides financial leadership and analysis of key manufacturing metrics including labor efficiency, material usage, yield, waste, throughput, and conversion costs.
- Oversees inventory accounting and controls, including cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory accuracy initiatives, and excess and obsolete inventory reviews.
- Supports capital investment decisions through financial analysis, project evaluations, post-investment reviews, and capital expenditure monitoring.
- Develops and disseminates the annual business plan to establish performance objectives and to comply with corporate guidelines
- Directs or performs a variety of financial or accounting activities (budget preparation, sales data, costs, audits, etc.) to meet specific Division operating requirements
- Interacts with Information Technology Services to represent the Division and to collaborate on the implementation of new applications
- Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required from an accredited university
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Knowledge / Skills
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years leading accounting or finance teams.
- Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience partnering with manufacturing and operations leadership.
- ERP experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required from an accredited university
- CPA preferred
Knowledge / Skills
- 7 to 10 years of relevant more experience with full general ledger, cost systems, and management responsibility
Compensation- $170,000- $180,000
