Controller Position
Real estate development firm in the city of Santa Monica is seeing a Controller to join their team. This homebuilder caters to a unique and exclusive clientele. Come be a part of a team who builds amazing custom high end residential homes.
The Controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company. This includes monthly financial reporting, maintenance of accounting systems, and comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk. This includes general ledger and sub ledger adjustments and reconciliations. The Controller is also responsible for managing the processing of weekly in-house payroll and cross training with the HR Manager to complete this task as needed.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Four-year Accounting or related degree required.
- Professional Certification: CPA required
- Four to six years related experience required; some manufacturing, construction or related industry experience
- Experience: Experience with ERP systems specifically Timberline
Develop and execute financial and operational reporting to support routine financial and key performance metric reporting. Develop efficient processes and procedures for monthly financial package, job reporting and job analysis.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- All accounting operations executed accurately and timely.
- Billing, A/R, A/P, and Job cost
- Payroll
- GL and Financial Reporting
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company's actual performance compared to the business plan
- Month-end close
- Standard reporting package updated with supporting info for margin detail per job and variance review with Project Managers.
