Controller Law Firm
A well-established Florida law firm with a 40+ year history is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. The firm employs 50+ professionals (including 20+ attorneys), operates from three Florida offices, and is known for its collegial, family-office culture and long employee tenure. Clients include public and private companies, including Fortune 500 organizations.
This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Partner. The incoming Controller will oversee a team of two and manage all day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close and financial statement preparation
- Oversee daily/monthly reporting and cash flow monitoring
- Manage in-house payroll and intercompany accounting
- Provide financial analysis and updates to firm leadership
- Supervise and develop the accounting team
- Support select risk management initiatives
Preferred Background
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of Controller-level experience (ideally $520M revenue companies)
- Law firm or professional services experience (ideally at a firm with billable hours)
- Experience with Juris highly preferred
- Advanced level of excel skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented leadership style
