Job Summary
Seeking a Controls Engineer 2 to support large engine control systems through simulation, calibration, testing, and on-engine validation. The engineer will work with dynamic systems, control algorithms, engine data, and real engine hardware in test-cell environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate engine control systems in simulation and on-engine environments.
- Analyze and present engine/test data.
- Support electrical design activities from specifications through system completion.
- Test, evaluate, modify, and calibrate products and instruments.
- Analyze processes and implement improvements.
- Troubleshoot hardware and process issues.
- Perform technical calculations related to electrical requirements, motor controls, and safety.
- Support control-system development and validation.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with technical leads, engineering peers, and process partners.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong understanding of feedback control of dynamic systems.
- Experience with control systems design and analysis using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Engine controls experience.
- Control-system calibration in simulation and/or on-engine environments.
- Experience analyzing engine/test data.
- Hands-on experience with real engine hardware or test cells.
- Controls Engineer 1/2 or similar experience.
- Relevant graduate degree may count toward experience.
- Internships in engine controls may be considered as experience.
Important Note
PLC controls experience is a disqualifier/red flag for this role. The focus is on feedback control, dynamic systems, MATLAB/Simulink, and engine controls, not traditional PLC controls.
