Job Description
We are seeking an Application Architect III to join our dynamic team supporting a global Trade Event Processor platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in core Java for high-volume, low-latency, distributed systems and a proven ability to deliver new features, stability improvements, and production support outcomes in a Linux and Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implement new functionality for a distributed, multi-threaded event processing platform using core Java.
* Contribute across the SDLC, including requirements discussions, development, testing, release, and production support.
* Investigate system behavior and resolve queries in partnership with first-line support and global stakeholders.
* Identify and implement fixes and optimizations to enhance efficiency, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* 5+ years of professional core Java development experience.
* Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development principles.
* Working knowledge of Java garbage collection and concurrent, low-latency I/O.
* Experience building on Linux in multi-threaded, large-scale, fault-tolerant systems.
* Messaging technologies such as TIBCO RV/EMS, JMS, AMPS, or Apache Kafka.
* Demonstrated ability to operate independently in decision making and handle support inquiries.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Agile practices and release coordination.
* Background in global trading systems or event-driven architectures.
Top Soft Skills:
* Team player with interpersonal skills and integrity.
* Ownership of investigations and resolutions with judgment on when to escalate.
* Ability to work across development, testing, support analysis, and release coordination.
