We are currently hiring a Data Analyst – Data Visualization & Analytics to join one of the largest energy transmission companies in Europe. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic energy market studies by developing advanced data analytics, interactive dashboards, and data visualization solutions that support the transition to a more sustainable and reliable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve data management processes, including data warehouses and data pipelines.
- Analyze large datasets generated from market and power system simulations.
- Design and build interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and other visualization technologies.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for data analysis, processing, and automation.
- Benchmark visualization approaches against industry studies and energy market reports.
- Create comparative visualizations across multiple simulation studies and historical datasets.
- Identify inconsistencies in simulation input/output data through automated validation scripts.
- Design user-friendly interfaces for exploring complex datasets.
- Present analytical findings and visualization concepts to business stakeholders and management.
- Support data engineering initiatives and integration between analytical tools.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Data Visualization Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI for developing interactive dashboards and reports.
- Experience working with large datasets, data modeling, and data visualization.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses.
- Ability to clean, validate, transform, and analyze complex datasets.
- Experience creating automated data validation and reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and storytelling with data.
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present insights to technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional proficiency in English; Dutch and/or French is a strong advantage.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Belgium.
