One of the companies we partner with at Joppy is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to architect, build, and own a mission-critical data infrastructure from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity for someone deeply AI-native who understands that exceptional data foundations unlock the next phase of AI-driven growth.
- Design end-to-end data architecture, from raw data ingestion to clean, analytics-ready models
- Build robust data pipelines to ingest information from multiple systems, including product, CRM, finance, marketing, and AI event traces
- Model core data entities to provide a consistent source of truth for all teams
- Establish and maintain data quality, monitoring, testing, and alerting for trust in data outputs
- Develop the foundational data layer needed for scalable, reliable AI initiatives
- Instrument product usage analytics, including events, funnels, and retention metrics
- Create dashboards and data sets that drive decision-making across Sales, CX, Finance, and Marketing
- 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, ideally in a startup or scale-up environment (exceptional candidates with less experience and proven end-to-end project ownership will be considered)
- Experience building a data warehouse or data platform from scratch, or leading a large-scale migration
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Direct experience with BigQuery or similar cloud data warehouses
- Comfort using AI tools in daily workflows, staying current with new models and techniques, and applying them to accelerate work
- A strong product mindset, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and focus on business outcomes
- Fluent in Spanish and comfortable communicating in English
- Experience in SaaS companies with complex, multi-team data needs
- Hands-on experience with dbt, particularly projects with 50+ models in production
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster
- Knowledge of event streaming using Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies
- Expertise in data quality frameworks and xqbhyrx observability tools
- Experience handling AI/LLM traces and usage data
- Python, SQL, BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Google Cloud Platform, PostHog, and a range of AI providers
