About the Role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support a new enterprise data initiative focused on data ingestion, migration, curation, and modernization. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions that enable reliable, high-quality data for reporting, analytics, and business operations.

You will work closely with data owners, business stakeholders, and regional teams to ensure efficient data movement, data quality, and operational stability across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.
• Build and support data ingestion processes from various source systems into cloud-based data platforms.
• Develop and optimize data transformations using SQL, Python, Spark, or similar technologies.
• Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot data-related issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Support data migration and modernization initiatives.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain documentation for data processes, workflows, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Support automation of data operations and routine processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering standards, governance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Data Engineering, ETL Development, or Data Warehouse Development experience.
• Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, data transformations, and performance optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Spark/PySpark.
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Teradata.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data migration.
• Experience troubleshooting data pipelines and resolving production issues.
• Strong communication skills in English and Filipino.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience with Azure Log Analytics, monitoring tools, or production support environments.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and AI-assisted automation.
• Background in insurance, financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries.
