About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Python development skills and experience working within Capital Markets or Front Office Trading environments .
This is not a traditional back-end Data Engineering role. The successful candidate will work directly with business stakeholders on a fast-paced trading floor, translating business requirements into data-driven UI solutions while helping design and deliver scalable data solutions.
This position requires excellent communication skills, strong business engagement, and the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with Front Office business users, Finance, Treasury, and technology teams.
- Gather and analyze business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and UI components.
- Perform data extraction, profiling, transformation, and validation.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines.
- Build scalable Python-based solutions.
- Participate in end-to-end solution design and delivery.
- Perform unit testing and support functional testing.
- Create technical documentation and solution designs.
- Participate in architecture and design review sessions.
- Work closely with development teams to implement scalable solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and technology roadmaps.
Must Have Qualifications
- 7+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Strong SQL and database development experience
- Experience building ETL/Data Pipeline solutions
- Experience performing Data Profiling and Data Analysis
- Experience gathering and translating Business Requirements
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience working within Capital Markets or Front Office environments
