Data Engineer (Python + GCP)

Key Responsibilities

·       Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based data engineering solutions.

·       Build data ingestion, wrangling, cleansing, and transformation processes.

·       Use GCP services, including BigQuery, to support data platform and business requirements.

·       Explore source data to identify business value, data quality issues, and integration needs.

·       Design and maintain data models for analytics, reporting, and downstream use cases.

·       Develop APIs, backend services, or microservices where required.

Required Skills

·       3-8 years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles.

·       Strong Python development experience for data engineering use cases.

·       Excellent SQL skills.

·       Hands-on experience with data wrangling, data ingestion, data modeling, and data cleansing.

·       Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery and other key GCP services.

·       Experience in data exploration and sourcing data to support business needs.

·       Self-driven, motivated, and comfortable working independently.

Preferred Skills

·       Experience in the banking industry.

·       Prior HSBC experience is a plus.

·       Experience with distributed databases is a plus.

·       Experience with Alibaba Cloud is a plus.
