Here’s what you need to know about this position:
THE WORK
- Design, build, and maintain the full data stack from ingestion to consumption, handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (JSON, Parquet, ORC), ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to build impactful data solutions that deliver actionable insights for customers and internal teams.
- Promote high standards for data quality, security, and governance, including metadata-driven practices and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to the technical architecture and support daily operations of data pipelines, data warehouses, and self-service analytics platforms, including ELT/ETL workflows and real-time streaming where applicable.
- Create tools that improve transparency in reporting company-wide business outcomes and increase data accessibility.
- Manage cloud data technologies, preferably on AWS (S3, Redshift, RDS), along with orchestration and transformation tools; familiarity with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Support metric standardization, champion data engineering best practices, and contribute to enterprise data architecture and dimensional modeling.
NEEDED EXPERTISE
- Based in Mexico City and available to work in a hybrid setup.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and building scalable data pipelines and architectures, including real-time streaming and performance tuning.
- Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling (relational and dimensional), and data warehouse management, especially with Snowflake.
- Experience with transformation and orchestration tools like dbt, Airflow, Prefect, Airbyte, and Kafka, as well as ELT/ETL workflows.
- Proficiency in Python programming, Unix/Linux scripting, and working with APIs; experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Sisense.
- Strong experience collaborating with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and initiative-driven skills.
- Agile/Scrum experience and bonus points for advanced cloud DevOps (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker) and enterprise data architecture expertise.
