What we look for?

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Principal Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL-based data engineering to design, optimize, and deliver scalable data solutions. While part of the platform operates on Snowflake, the majority of the work focuses on complex SQL development, data modelling, and performance optimization across large‑scale datasets. The role requires strong engineering discipline along with experience in modern CI/CD practices using Git and Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL-based data solutions across large and enterprise‑scale datasets
  
• Build and maintain robust data models and transformation logic, ensuring performance, accuracy, and maintainability
  
• Troubleshoot and optimize query performance using advanced SQL techniques (joins, CTEs, window functions, execution plan analysis)
  
• Develop and maintain transformation frameworks using dbt where applicable
  
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated build, test, and deployment
  
• Apply strong Git‑based development practices (branching, code reviews, version control)
  
• Support data platform components including Snowflake where required, but not as the primary focus
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and efficient data solutions
  
• Ensure solutions are production‑ready, including monitoring, stability, and support handover
  

Mandatory Requirements

• 
  
• Expert‑level SQL skills (mandatory, primary skill)
  • 
    
  • Complex query writing and optimization
    
  • Data modelling (dimensional, normalized/denormalized)
    
  • Performance tuning on large datasets
    
  
  
• Strong experience in data engineering and transformation design
  
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
  
• Strong knowledge of Git workflows and version control practices
  
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines / CI‑CD automation
  
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
  
• Ability to work across full lifecycle (development to production support)
  

Nice to Have

• 
  
• Exposure to Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms (nice‑to‑have, not primary requirement)
  
• Understanding of cloud‑based data architectures
  
• Familiarity with test automation and data validation approaches
