Job Title: Platform Engineer
Location : 100% Remote Work
Duration : Full Time permanent Position
Platform Engineer We need: A candidate who has experience working on/with development team, specifically someone who has built DevOps tooling for a dev team and has experience with Redhat Linux environment
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Experience with Linux systems (CentOS and RHEL preferred)
Experience with Docker
Experience with Python
Experience with Systemd
Experience with Linux BASH scripting and administration
Works and communicates well in a distributed/remote team environment
Roles & Responsibilities
Platform Engineers work within software development agile teams to maintain and develop the host platform that the rest of the ATD application runs on. They configure the host OS, system startup tooling, permissions, remote user management. They will also work on the configuration of docker to run the rest of our software stack, providing a stable and efficient platform and managing the hardware resources available. They will also build and maintain upgrade and deployment tooling for the product
Configure and maintain Linux operating system deployment
Configure and maintain Docker application
Upgrade system packages to close vulnerabilities in 3rd party software
Integrate system with directory servers for remote user management
Build tooling and maintain tooling for deploying and upgrading the system
Contribute to architecture designs
Decompose user stories into tasks and estimate story points for user stories and tasks
Perform manual tests as required
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
Experience with Git and Ansible
Experience with RedHat Package Manager (RPM) and yum repositories
Familiarity with KVM/ESX virtual environments
Education
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (3 years work experience in place of degree)
