Data Program Manager
Key Requirements MUST HAVES
1. Strong Program Management Experience
- Proven experience managing large, complex technology programs.
- Strong program management fundamentals - this is NOT just a coordinator role.
- Ability to develop and manage a comprehensive program plan.
- Strong experience managing:
- RAID logs
- Risks and issues
- Dependencies
- Milestones
- Governance
- Status reporting
- Action items
- Cross-functional workstreams
- Comfortable using tools such as Jira, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other program/project management platforms.
2. Data & Analytics / Technical Background
- Strong technical background is required.
- Must understand data and analytics transformation.
- Experience working within a Fabric environment is highly desirable/important.
- Should have an understanding of data analytics and AI.
- Candidates should be able to operate comfortably within a broader technology organization and understand how different technical workstreams connect.
3. Complex Dependency Management
The ability to identify and manage dependencies across a large program is critical.
Look for candidates who have experience:
- Identifying dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Understanding how technology initiatives impact one another.
- Coordinating across technical and business teams.
- Escalating risks and blockers appropriately.
- Creating structure around complex programs.
4. Communication & Relationship Building
This is one of the most important requirements.
The hiring manager wants someone who is:
- Highly verbal and articulate.
- Lively, energetic, and engaging.
- Comfortable communicating with technical and business stakeholders.
- Able to bring people together.
- Strong at building relationships and gaining stakeholder trust.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and driving accountability.
- Able to communicate effectively with senior leaders.
