About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Database Developer / Data Platform Engineer to design and evolve the data foundation supporting an advanced Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) platform.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on database architecture, data modelling, operational data, analytics, performance, and platform scalability.
What You'll Do
- Design and evolve data models for orders, robot states, missions, routes, events, telemetry, configuration, and execution history
- Build reliable, scalable database structures for real-time and analytical use cases
- Optimize queries, indexing, partitioning, migrations, and data lifecycle management
- Support backend services, algorithms, dashboards, analytics, and reporting
- Develop analytics-ready datasets and KPI structures
- Ensure data quality, consistency, auditability, and traceability
- Work with Backend, Algorithm, Robotics, Frontend, DevOps, QA, and Product teams
- Support database reliability, monitoring, backups, and production performance
Requirements
- Strong SQL and database engineering experience
- Excellent knowledge of relational database design, ideally PostgreSQL
- Strong understanding of schema design, indexing, transactions, constraints, migrations, and query optimization
- Experience designing data models for operational and production systems
- Understanding of real-time/near-real-time data and concurrency
- Experience with data quality, integrity, auditability, and historical data
- Strong software engineering practices: Git, testing, CI/CD
- Experience with APIs and backend integration
- Docker/Linux experience
- Python, Rust, or another backend language is a strong advantage
Nice to Have
- AMR/AGV, robotics, logistics, warehouse automation, or industrial software experience
- TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, Redis, Kafka, NATS, MQTT, or event-driven architectures
- Data warehouses, BI, analytics platforms, or semantic layers
- Kubernetes/cloud-native environments
- Multi-tenant or multi-site systems
- Simulation, digital twins, replay, or operational benchmarking
Important
This is not a pure DBA or reporting role.
The ideal candidate must be able to understand how database architecture impacts real-time execution, system reliability, analytics, product performance, and long-term scalability.
