JD:

Client is seeking a Senior Database Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure Cloud, database infrastructure, automation, and performance tuning.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, automating, and optimizing enterprise database environments while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, security, and peak database performance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, provision, and maintain SQL Server and Azure database environments.
  • Manage Azure Cloud services and Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor automated database jobs, maintenance tasks, and ETL workflows.
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, SSIS, and related technologies.
  • Monitor database performance, optimize queries, indexing, and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and high availability environments.
  • Ensure compliance with State security, governance, and data privacy standards.
  • Support application deployments, IIS administration, and database integration activities.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on enterprise database solutions.
  • Provide production support for mission-critical systems, including after-hours support when required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience administering enterprise SQL Server environments.
  • 7+ years of experience with:
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Windows Server
    • Azure Cloud
  • Strong experience with:
    • PowerShell
    • SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
    • Database automation
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Azure infrastructure
    • Storage systems
    • Network architecture
  • Experience with:
    • PowerApps
    • Power BI Services
    • Power Automate
  • Experience with:
    • CI/CD Pipelines
    • DevOps practices
    • .NET applications
  • Excellent troubleshooting and production support skills.
  • Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).

Required Certifications

Must have at least one Microsoft Certification (Required at Submission):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification
  • Other relevant Microsoft Database Certifications

Certification must be uploaded with the submission.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with the State of Georgia.
  • Experience supporting other State Government agencies.
  • Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments.
