APPIT Software Solutions is hiring a Databricks Analytics Engineer in Toronto, Canada . Architect and deliver end-to-end analytics solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform for enterprise clients at APPIT Software in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) on Databricks Lakehouse
- Build data transformation pipelines using Databricks notebooks, Delta Live Tables, and Workflows
- Develop reusable data assets and curated datasets for self-service analytics and BI consumption
- Implement Unity Catalog for centralized data governance, access control, and lineage tracking
- Optimize Delta Lake table performance through compaction, Z-ordering, and liquid clustering
- Collaborate with data scientists to productionize ML models using MLflow and Databricks Feature Store
Requirements
- 5-8 years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including notebooks, clusters, and job scheduling
- Proficiency in PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake for large-scale data processing
- Experience with medallion architecture patterns and data lakehouse design principles
- Knowledge of Unity Catalog or similar data governance and cataloging solutions
- Solid SQL skills and experience modeling data for downstream analytics consumption
Nice to Have
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
- Experience with dbt-databricks adapter
- Familiarity with Terraform for Databricks workspace provisioning
