Because when you thrive, we all thrive.- The Developer Experience / Technical Writer is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality, clarity, and accuracy of ABC Fitness Solutions’ customer-facing API documentation. This role ensures that API documentation is complete, technically correct, and easy for external developers and partners to use. The Technical Writer will collaborate with product, engineering, and integration teams to create and maintain comprehensive API guides, examples, and developer resources that enhance the overall API experience for clients of ABC’s product suite, including Glofox, Ignite, Trainerize, Commerce, and Gymsales.-

Key Responsibilities -
- Own the creation, review, and continuous improvement of all customer-facing API documentation.
- Partner with product managers, software engineers, and integration specialists to ensure documentation accurately reflects the current API functionality.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content tailored for external developers and technical stakeholders.
- Review new API releases and identify documentation updates or gaps to ensure timely publication of accurate content.
- Maintain consistency in documentation style, structure, and terminology across all API products and platforms.
- Work within established tools and processes (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI, Markdown, Gravitee documentation portals) to manage and publish API content.
- Create tutorials, integration walkthroughs, and example code to help developers understand and implement ABC APIs efficiently.
- Conduct periodic audits of existing API documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and alignment with product updates.
- Collaborate closely with global engineering and product teams to proactively identify areas for documentation enhancement.
- Serve as the internal advocate for external developers, representing the voice of the API user community in documentation and process decisions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience -
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5-8 years of experience in API documentation, technical writing, or developer experience roles within software or SaaS environments.
- Proven experience creating or maintaining API documentation using tools such as Postman, Swagger (OpenAPI), or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON structures, and authentication schemes (OAuth 2.0, API Keys, JWT, etc.).
- Excellent English writing and communication skills with the ability to translate technical content into developer-friendly language.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams to document APIs, SDKs, and integration workflows.
- Familiarity with API gateways or management platforms such as Gravitee is a plus.
- Experience with content management systems and version control (Markdown, GitHub, or similar tools).
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close alignment with global cross-functional teams.
