- The Senior Application Developer is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting scalable web applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions.
- This role partners closely with business stakeholders, architects, product teams, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software that meets business objectives while adhering to established architecture, security, and development standards.
- The Senior Application Developer provides technical leadership through solution design, code reviews, mentoring, and adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development tools.
- Supporting technologies used within the organization include Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and enterprise integration platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications, APIs, and cloud-native solutions.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable application designs.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integration services supporting internal and external business partners.
- Build modern user interfaces using React and Angular frameworks.
- Develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement cloud-native solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform services.
- Participate in application architecture, technical design reviews, and solution planning sessions.
- Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, and best practices.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
- Support production applications by troubleshooting incidents, resolving defects, and implementing enhancements.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility, and software development lifecycle standards.
- Evaluate and leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and similar technologies to improve development productivity and code quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation guides.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of application development experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing enterprise web applications.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience with React and/or Angular.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with source control systems, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing cloud-native applications and microservices architectures.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
