Position: Developer/Programmer Analyst 3
Location: Hybrid - Austin, TX 78752
Duration: 12 Months plus
Job Summary
- Oversee coding, testing, and debugging of programs based on technical and functional requirements.
- Supervise preparation of test data, flowcharts, and diagrams.
- Lead the development and documentation of instructions and manuals for end users and production runs.
- Coordinate and conduct research and analysis for project proposals, system modifications, and new projects.
- Analyze proposed applications for equipment requirements and capabilities; evaluate and manage database schemas; write, run, and deploy SQL code and packages.
- Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs, system messages, connectivity, memory, and disk utilization.
- Schedule and coordinate programming projects with staff members.
- Prepare detailed analyses, plans, diagrams, and verification procedures for applications.
- Develop standards and procedures for programming staff, interfaces, and reports.
- Develop and implement specialized programs to enhance systems software.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve application and system performance.
- Manage backup and restore processes for business continuity.
- Assign and track work among team members.
- Adhere to agency attendance and leave policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 15+ years of JAVA experience
- 10+ years of SQL database experience
- 8+ years of experience supporting and developing large applications in a team environment
- 5+ years of Linux experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years using Atlassian tool suite, especially JIRA
- 8+ years working with Agile methodology
- 2+ years transitioning applications from legacy mainframe to Java/SQL environments
