Description
We are seeking a talented Senior Full-Stack Developer with strong Python and Angular skills to contribute to the backend and frontend development of the Billing System and Omnichannel Hub modules for the Ranhill ICX platform. This offshore role is part of a high-performing development team responsible for building scalable microservices that will process billing transactions for over 1.3 million utility customers. The Senior Developer will work under the direction of the Development Lead, owning assigned sprint tasks from technical design through to unit-tested, CI/CD-ready code. The ideal candidate combines strong Python engineering skills with Angular frontend capabilities and a willingness to take ownership of complex, high-impact features.
Responsibilities
- Develop Python-based microservices for the Billing System and Omnichannel Hub modules including REST API endpoints, business logic layers, and database interaction components
- Build Angular frontend components for billing management and customer account interfaces based on technical design specifications
- Implement input validation, error handling, logging, and exception management across developed backend services
- Write comprehensive unit tests using Pytest (Python) and Jest (Angular) to meet minimum code coverage requirements
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide accurate task estimates during backlog refinement and sprint planning
- Resolve defects from SIT and UAT phases within agreed resolution timelines
- Adhere to coding standards, Git branching strategy, and code review processes
- Develop database queries and schema interaction code for MariaDB following performance and security best practices
- Collaborate with Senior Developers on technical design clarifications and peer code review
- Maintain code-level documentation including API endpoint descriptions and service interaction notes
- Support integration testing preparation by assisting with test data creation and API mock setup
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline processes by ensuring code passes automated linting and unit test gates before merge
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience with demonstrated skills in both Python and Angular
- Proficiency in Python 3.x with experience in Django REST Framework or FastAPI for microservices development
- Strong Angular (v12+) development proficiency including TypeScript, RxJS, component-based architecture, and HTTP client integration
- Experience developing high-throughput backend services handling large data volumes
- Proficiency in MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL including complex query writing, schema design, and indexing strategies
- Solid experience with RESTful API design, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, and API versioning
- Proficiency in Pytest for Python unit testing and Jest or Karma for Angular unit testing
- Experience with Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker containerisation
- Understanding of microservices architecture patterns and inter-service communication
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery practices
- Experience in billing, ERP, or financial transaction systems is a strong advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
