The Opportunity

We are looking for a Development Engineer to join our Development Services team.

Reporting to the Manager Development Services, you will play a key role in assessing development proposals, providing practical engineering advice and ensuring infrastructure is delivered to a high standard.

What you will do

• Provide clear, practical engineering advice on development applications
• Review designs to ensure they meet required standards
• Work closely with developers, consultants and internal teams
• Monitor construction and oversee infrastructure handoverHelp deliver development outcomes that are sustainable and fit for the future

Key tasks include

• Assess civil designs and supporting documentation for development applications
• Provide timely, solutions-focused technical advice
• Review submissions for compliance with relevant standards
• Inspect construction works and monitor quality
• Manage asset handovers to ensure long‑term performance
• Contribute to improving processes and standards

You will be part of a small, capable and supportive team, with the opportunity to work across a wide variety of development and infrastructure projects. This is a hands‑on role where you will see the real impact of your work in the community.

This role is based at our Freeling office, with an easy commute from Adelaide.

About you

We are looking for someone who is motivated, practical and enjoys working with others to get outcomes. You are a qualified Civil Engineer with experience in development, infrastructure or municipal engineering, and you are comfortable working with designs, standards and stakeholders.

You will bring

• A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Around 2+ years’ experience (graduates with strong practical experience are encouraged to apply)
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
• Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• A proactive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn

Experience in development engineering, design review or project delivery will be highly regarded, along with an understanding of relevant standards and approval processes.
