Development Manager – Java Full Stack
Hybrid work model: Two days in‑office combined with flexible remote work. Responsibilities
Provide constructive feedback and influence the performance and career development of high performing engineers. Own the full stack of our products, collaborate with peers on cross‑team initiatives. Collaborate continuously with multiple departments to translate business and product strategies into strategic technical plans. Decide with senior management on long‑term technology road maps and execute existing initiatives. Lead multiple projects—including planning, prioritization, and task delegation. Enforce accountability for the quality of software that is crafted. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experienced leader in hiring, mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent, including performance management. Proven knowledge of Java and backend technologies (Python and/or JavaScript) with strong understanding of API design, Web Services and RESTful architecture, microservices, and SOAP-based services. Proficiency in Java ecosystem tools and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Maven/Gradle. Strong hands‑on experience with GraphQL for API design and cross‑service communication. Solid understanding of Node.js and/or TypeScript for backend services. Familiarity with React.js is a plus, with sufficient knowledge to lead and collaborate with frontend engineers. Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and a culture of eliminating barriers. Ability to drive the development of high‑scale systems and system integrations. The salary range for this position is $130,000–155,000 CAD. Eligible roles may also receive an annual bonus or equity grant. Benefits
