DevOPS/Cloud Engineer Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite). Duration: 11 months with possible extension. Pay: CAD $80-$85 per hour. Client: Public Sector.
Responsibilities
10+ years of experience in systems, data communications and telecommunication technology including RedHat Enterprise Linux V7+, UNIX Solaris V10 and Mainframe IMS Connect, system software and system tools.
Extensive experience in WebLogic V12, WebSphere V9 and Informatica V10 configuration, customization, upgrading and patching.
Extensive experience in DevOps toolsets in Azure Cloud, including Docker, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Azure DevOps Pipelines and OpenShift.
Working knowledge and experience with git (branching and merging strategies, pull requests, GitOps).
Designing and implementing infrastructure as code, build automation and immutable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and Packer.
Performance tuning, storage/capacity management, database migration/upgrade, backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
Configuring load balancers and firewalls in Azure Cloud.
Experience with J2EE, Java, Node.js, Azure Functions, Serverless, Pub/Sub event‑driven systems and Azure App Gateway.
Mid‑tier refresh initiatives using Docker, Ansible, Packer and Terraform in Azure environments.
High‑skill problem solving, reasoning and troubleshooting to resolve data recovery issues in multi‑platform environments.
Support for pre‑production and production systems 24/7/365 for application and middleware.
Conducting system monitoring and performance checks, ensuring data integrity in accordance with ITIL standards.
Supporting enterprise business and infrastructure projects.
Incident Management, Change Management and performance analysis.
Resource usage tracking, analysis and log searches for problem solving, audit and performance checks.
Emergency problem resolution and ad‑hoc reporting.
Strong oral and written communication skills, presentations and liaison with staff to resolve issues.
Capability to provide 24/7 support to internal and external clients on management request.
Coordination and leadership of staff and stakeholders.
Knowledge of Transportation Safety architecture, applications, databases and systems.
