Role Summary/Purpose
Wabtec is currently looking to hire an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join our expanding cloud technology hub.
The Dev Ops AWS Engineer will be responsible for automating and supporting Wabtec Enterprise Tools cloud-based platforms and services in an agile environment.Responsible for defining and automating a wide range of cloud-based middleware platforms, Paa S offerings, and Saa S offerings in a fast-paced and agile environment using the latest cloud technologies and infrastructureSupport a growing catalog of cloud-based middleware and developer tools such as Gitlab, IBM MQ, Red Hat Fuse, Xwiki, Akana, and moreLeverage tools such as Terraform, Chef, Git Lab, and other Dev Ops tooling to automate our cloud-based platformsDemonstrate the ability to mentor less experienced team members by helping to remove blocking issues communicated by team member during daily Agile stand-up meetingsAdhere to goals, SLAs, and deadlines for all projects and support ticketsParticipate and coordinate releases with various stakeholdersOccasional on call support availabilityAssisting with the daily operation of the organization including projects, support tickets, and other daily operational activities as neededProvide technical support and project supportTroubleshoot MiddlewareContinuously improve existing technical products and servicesQualifications/RequirementsCompleted Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Systems Analysis, Software engineering, or other STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)4-6 years of experience in Information TechnologyUpper-Intermediate/Advanced EnglishWillingness to work all hours across different time zonesAble to work in shiftsTechnical ExpertiseMinimum of 3 years of experience in TerraformMinimum of 4 years of experience with Bash scriptingMinimum of 4 years of experience with LinuxMinimum of 4 years of experience working in any one of the cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)Minimum of 4 years of experience building Dev Ops CI / CD pipelinesExperience working on Agile teams leveraging Git Lab, Chef, Git Hub, Jenkins, Ansible, and other CI/CD enablersExperience with Kubernetes, EKS, Open Shift, Docker, or other containerization experience is requiredBusiness AcumenDemonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problemsSkilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements, and estimating effortsDemonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trendsHas the ability to analyze the impact of technology choicesLeadershipAbility to take ownership of small and medium-sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team membersAbility to document the technical subject preciselyContinuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments.
