Overview

A DevOps Cloud Engineer vacancy has become available within our Infrastructure team. The role is responsible for the analysis, development, engagement and management of information systems and technology resources to implement, support, and enhance corporate claims management and technology requirements across the enterprise.

We are seeking a highly capable AWS‑focussed DevOps Cloud Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting and evolving our cloud platforms as we transition from project delivery into stable, business‑as‑usual operations.

This role is critical to ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our AWS environments, supporting regulated workloads and key client obligations while reducing reliance on external contractors and single points of failure.

You will be responsible for advancing DevOps practices, strengthening operational resilience, and enabling continuous delivery across a growing cloud estate.

Key to this role is strong domain knowledge of AWS cloud services and working knowledge of current IT and systems technologies and standards to meet the needs of the business and our clients.

This is a unique opportunity to broaden your existing skill set whilst working with a range of stakeholders.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Design and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) principles.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support secure, reliable deployments.
  • Monitor and maintain platform performance, availability, and security.
  • Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and application teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for government and enterprise workloads.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, cost optimisation, and cloud governance.

About you – What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services, especially Fargate, EC2, ALB, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, and Lambda.
  • Proven experience working in a git‑driven DevOps environment with automation and continuous delivery practices.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices using Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Bitbucket Pipelines and Jenkins.
  • Experience with containerisation (Fargate/Docker).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows systems administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capability and practical experience with debugging and optimising code, as well as automation.
  • Australian citizenship.

Desirable experience

  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies using CloudWatch and Splunk.
  • Experience supporting regulated environments (government, insurance, financial services).
  • Exposure to multi‑region or hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
  • Knowledge of networking, identity, and security architectures in cloud.

Security clearance

Being an Australian citizen and vetted to the Baseline Security Clearance level is a mandatory requirement for the position. Failure to receive the clearance will result in ineligibility.

On top of a competitive salary, great teams, and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
