Job Title: Devops/Data Engineer
Location: San Ramon, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate Range: $75 to $80
Responsibilities
Data Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration and processing.
- Build and optimize data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Integrate data from multiple sources including APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
- Monitor and improve data quality, integrity, and performance.
- Support batch and real-time data processing workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and system issues.
DevOps Engineering
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure deployments.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor system health, application performance, and infrastructure reliability.
- Automate operational tasks, deployments, and environment provisioning.
- Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Manage cloud services and environments across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Implement security, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain system documentation, deployment procedures, and operational standards.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and project planning.
- Provide technical support for production and non-production environments.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering roles.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, SQL, Bash, or Java.
- Experience with ETL tools and big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Hadoop.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems and system administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Cloud or DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or Datadog.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
