About the Opportunity This position will operate on a hybrid schedule, with the expectation that the successful candidate will work from our Toronto office three days per week.
Responsibilities Infrastructure Architecture & System Design
Implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure.
Analyze business and technical requirements to develop infrastructure specifications.
Design IaC‑based environments (Terraform, CDKTF) to ensure consistency and repeatability.
Optimize system architectures for cost efficiency, performance, and resilience.
Cloud Platforms, Automation & CI/CD
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment workflows.
Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling using modern DevOps tooling.
Integrate distributed systems, data pipelines, and microservices into unified automated delivery processes.
Implement blue/green, canary, and zero‑downtime deployment strategies for enterprise‑scale environments.
Reliability, Monitoring & Operational Excellence
Design and maintain observability frameworks (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.
Lead incident response and root‑cause analysis for infrastructure or deployment issues.
Implement resilience strategies, including auto‑recovery, load balancing, redundancy, and failover.
Establish operating procedures for monitoring, on‑call rotations, incident response, and continuous system maintenance.
Support large enterprises with distributed workforces of hundreds of thousands of users.
Security, Compliance & Governance
Implement DevSecOps best practices to secure cloud environments and CI/CD workflows.
Integrate security scanning, vulnerability assessment, and automated compliance checks.
Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes align with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards.
Collaborate with security teams to enforce least‑privilege access, encryption standards, and secure data flow.
Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship
Lead DevOps initiatives across cross‑functional engineering, product, and data teams.
Partner with software engineers to ensure infrastructure aligns with application architecture and performance needs.
Drive operational improvements, tooling modernization, and automation‑first culture across the organization.
Skills and Experiences We Value
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
1~5 years of progressive DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience, preferably in enterprise‑scale SaaS environments or with startup experience.
Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and supporting large cloud‑based systems.
Proven experience leading or coordinating DevOps initiatives or infrastructure projects.
Strong Proficiency With
Terraform, CDKTF, or other IaC tools
Docker, container orchestration
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)
Cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure)
Strong Understanding Of
Networking, DNS, load balancing, VPC design
Linux systems administration
Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
Security best practices and automated compliance frameworks
Experience with Node.js and Vue applications
Experience optimizing distributed systems for scale and performance
Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python and Bash
Experience supporting complex enterprise environments with high availability and large user bases
