Job Summary:
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for setting up and managing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, environments, security hardening, monitoring, and production deployment for the Guidance Document Portal. This role ensures a secure, scalable, and highly available hosted environment in alignment with State of Oklahoma IT and security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up Azure subscriptions, resource groups, networking (VNet, NSG), and environment structures for Dev, QA, UAT, and Prod.
- Provision Azure App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, and Azure Cognitive Search.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM Templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Configure secrets management with Azure Key Vault.
- Implement security hardening measures including WAF, TLS, secure headers, and penetration test remediation.
- Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting via Application Insights and Log Analytics.
- Set up backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
- Manage production deployments and coordinate go-live activities with the delivery team.
- Provide post-go-live warranty support for infrastructure and pipeline issues.
- Ensure infrastructure supports 99.9% availability and complies with state security requirements.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure services including App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Front Door, and WAF.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM Templates, or Terraform.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Networking knowledge including VNet, NSG, Private Endpoints, and DNS.
- Security expertise in TLS/SSL, WAF, and penetration test remediation.
- Monitoring skills using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and alerting systems.
- Experience working within government or regulated industry hosting environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (mandatory or highly preferred).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Familiarity with StateRAMP, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 controls.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery design.
- AWS DevOps exposure.
- Container orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification.
Special Considerations:
- Must adhere to State of Oklahoma IT and security standards.
- Ensure 99.9% uptime and zero downtime during production deployments.
- Security hardening and compliance with penetration test remediation are critical.
- Post-go-live support and warranty for infrastructure and pipeline issues required.
Scheduling:
- Part-time allocation at approximately 10%, estimated 80 hours over 16-18 weeks.
- Project-based contract with remote work arrangement.
