DevOps Engineer - Remote

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating the CI/CD platform and application delivery pipelines that underpin the AWS GovCloud Landing Zone program. This role works on-site with the client and AWS Professional Services to stand up GitLab Dedicated for Government, Terraform Enterprise (TFE), and Kubernetes-based provisioning pipelines across non-production and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Connect GitLab Dedicated for Government to the Landing Zone; import existing TFE modules and CI/CD pipelines.
Deploy and configure TFE on the Customer Proprietary Kubernetes Platform (CKP); set up workspaces, OIDC integration with GitLab, and encrypted/locked Terraform state.
Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules converted from CloudFormation (LZA Universal Config to multi-account TF modules).
Implement CI/CD pipelines for CFB application deployments (TAG, Cequence, 5x CFB UIs, BriteBill) across NPE and PROD environments.
Manage Kubernetes provisioning pipelines via GitLab CI/CD and TFE; provision CKP instances.
Vend NPE accounts via TFE; create shared VPCs and import application CI/CD pipelines.
Implement supply-chain security controls and container image scanning within pipelines.
Integrate observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Fluent Bit) into pipeline workflows.
Support DR exercises, runbook development, and operational readiness activities.
Deliver knowledge transfer sessions on TFE, GitLab pipelines, and CKP to client teams.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of DevOps/platform engineering experience.
Expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Terraform Enterprise (TFE) including state management, OIDC, and workspace governance.
Deep experience with GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline authoring, runners, and registry management.
Strong Kubernetes experience (EKS or equivalent); Helm, kubectl, and cluster provisioning.
Experience with AWS GovCloud services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EKS, and Secrets Manager.
Familiarity with FIPS 140-2 compliance requirements in pipeline and secrets management.
Experience with containerized application deployments and application security integration.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
Experience with Splunk, Cribl, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Familiarity with FedRAMP or DoD IL2 CI/CD pipeline requirements.
Experience with FinOps tooling and cost governance automation.
Exposure to SBOM and supply-chain security frameworks (SLSA, Sigstore).
