We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a client-focused platform and infrastructure engineering environment, supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD pipelines and platform services that power client-facing SaaS products.
You’ll collaborate closely with software engineers, delivery teams and platform specialists to help ensure secure, scalable, resilient and highly available environments while contributing to operational excellence, reliability and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing infrastructure engineering, automation, cloud architecture, collaboration and delivery-focused work within a modern engineering environment.
This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct people-management responsibilities.
Employment/Contract Structure & Exclusivity Clause
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week, MON-FRI).
Participation in an on-call rotation outside standard working hours is required.
Malta-based candidates will receive an indefinite employment contract.
EU-based candidates will be offered a renewable 1-year exclusive B2B contract, intended as a long-term engagement.
Candidates must be based and legally eligible to work from Malta or the European Union.
Exclusivity Clause
This role requires full professional dedication during the contract period. Parallel client/project work is not permitted unless otherwise approved in writing by the company.
Key Responsibilities
Lead initiatives and larger projects within the Application Delivery team.
Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure and platform services.
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, runbooks and automation.
Peer review engineering work to improve quality, resilience, security and maintainability.
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and observability solutions for distributed systems.
Manage Terraform configurations and reusable modules.
Ensure infrastructure security, performance, reliability, backup/recovery and change management best practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and the on-call rota while maintaining standards and guidance documentation.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of professional DevOps / Platform Engineering experience.
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services.
Terraform / Infrastructure as Code expertise.
Cloud networking knowledge including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, private networking and CDNs.
Monitoring and observability tooling experience (ELK, Datadog, Prometheus or similar).
Incident response, root cause analysis and reliability improvement experience.
Practical experience using AI-enabled engineering tooling.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1/C2 level).
Must be already based and legally eligible to work from Malta or an EU country.
Nice to Have
Infrastructure testing frameworks (Pester, xUnit).
Redis, Azure SQL and Elasticsearch exposure.
Advanced observability tooling experience.
Experience within SaaS or software development environments.
Awareness of emerging technology trends and tooling.

Candidates must be based in either Malta or anywhere else within the European Union.
Candidates based in the EU must be legally entitled to work remotely from their residing EU country and don’t require sponsorship. Relocation to Malta can also be provided for candidates already based within the EU.
