TekStaff's Client has a current vacancy for a DevOps Engineer
Pay Rate Range: $72-90
Job Description This is a 12 month contract located in Toronto, ON/ Hybrid (3-4 days/ week)
Typical Day in Role
Collaborating closely with a team of UI developers, backend API developers, business system analysts, and architects to work on both new features and incremental improvements and provide your technical expertise towards success of the development team
Communicating closely with the team through Teams daily
Troubleshooting any issues in the test environment
Work with stakeholders such as BA, application developers and other internal teams (Tech Ops, Dev Ops)
Supporting the non-prod and prod releases
Candidate Requirements / Must Have Skills
10+ years of overall experience in the IT industry supporting enterprise applications
5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps / SRE / Production Support roles supporting enterprise applications
3+ years of experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Azure Virtual Machines
2+ years of experience supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including build and deployment automation
2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure services, including Azure DevOps for pipeline management and Azure Active Directory for identity and access management (Azure Administrator certification preferred)
3+ years of hands-on experience with Splunk and Dynatrace for monitoring, alerting, and incident investigation
3+ years of strong Linux / Unix systems support and troubleshooting experience
3+ years of experience providing L2/L3 support in Banking or Capital Markets environments
2+ years of experience with Autosys and Python scripting for batch processing and automation
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Experience supporting OpenShift Container Platform and Kubernetes-based applications in production
Hands‑on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and Jenkins
Exposure to Azure cloud infrastructure and services
Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server for database troubleshooting and performance tuning
Strong understanding of incident management, RCA, and ITIL processes, with exposure to tools such as ServiceNow
Previous recent experience with top 5 banks is nice to have

Good communication and teamwork skills to work with multiple groups across the bank, gathering requirements
Comfortable with new technologies
Flexible and able to pivot and adapt to change
Accountable for and takes ownership of the work
Eager to learn, mentor, and share ideas in a team environment
Degrees or Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree level or above education, ideally in business, financial or technology.
Relevant certifications would be a bonus
