Required Technical Skills
Linux Administration
Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration.
Experience managing users, groups, permissions, processes, services, logs, disk and memory utilization, package installation, scheduled jobs, and network configuration.
Working knowledge of SSH, systemd, cron, log rotation, and Linux security practices. Docker and Containerization
Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Dockerfiles.
Experience with multi-stage builds and Docker image optimization for size, build time, performance, and security.
Ability to troubleshoot startup failures, networking, volumes, environment variables, build failures, resource constraints, and application-runtime issues.
Experience with Docker Compose is preferred.
CI/CD
Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with one or more of GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or CodePipeline.
Understanding of build automation, automated testing, security scanning, artifacts, secrets handling, deployment approvals, release management, and rollback procedures.
Ability to identify and improve slow, unreliable, or repetitive pipeline stages.
Infrastructure as Code and Scripting
Working knowledge of Terraform and Ansible.
Strong Shell/Bash scripting skills.
Basic to intermediate Python scripting skills.
Ability to automate deployments, backups, monitoring, housekeeping, and routine infrastructure administration.
Cloud Administration
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure.
AWS exposure may include EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53, ELB, CloudFront, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, and CI/CD services.
Azure exposure may include Azure DevOps, Virtual Machines, Container Registry, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspace, Application Insights, networking, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Front Door, Managed Identities, and RBAC.
Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or Linode will be considered an added advantage.
Monitoring, Networking, Security, and Git
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, LogAnalytics Workspace, Application Insights, New Relic, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, or Loki.
Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, firewalls, routing, load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS, VPNs, and public/private networking.
Ability to use troubleshooting tools such as curl, ping, traceroute, nslookup, dig, ss, netstat, telnet, and openssl.
Understanding of IAM, RBAC, least privilege, secrets management, credential rotation, patching, backups, and disaster recovery.
Strong working knowledge of Git, branching, merge or pull requests, reviews, tags, releases, conflicts, rebase, cherry-pick, protected branches, and access controls.
Application Troubleshooting
Ability to understand application logs, configuration files, dependencies, build processes, and runtime behavior.
Working exposure to applications developed in Python, PHP, Java, Node.js, Ruby, or similar technologies.
The role is not an application-development position, but the candidate should be able to identify infrastructure, configuration, dependency, and runtime-related issues.
