Role Summary:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux administration, cloud infrastructure,
CI/CD automation, Docker, monitoring, scripting, and production support. The candidate will work closely with senior
DevOps engineers, architects, development teams, QA teams, and security teams to implement and maintain reliable
delivery pipelines and cloud environments.
Strong Linux, Docker, CI/CD, cloud, automation, and troubleshooting skills are mandatory. Kubernetes and GitOps
exposure will be considered good to have rather than a mandatory requirement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
 Understand project requirements, deployment processes, operational KPIs, and environment-specific expectations.
 Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines for build, testing, security checks, artifact management, deployment, and rollback.
 Support application deployments across development, testing, staging, pre-production, and production environments.
 Work with development teams to resolve build, dependency, configuration, runtime, and deployment issues.
 Manage and troubleshoot Linux servers and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
 Create, optimize, secure, and troubleshoot Docker images and containers.
 Develop automation scripts using Shell/Bash and Python.
 Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible under the guidance of senior team members.
 Configure and maintain application monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, centralized logging, dashboards, alerts, and notification channels.
 Configure custom alerts for application and infrastructure health in AWS and Azure.
 Troubleshoot deployment failures, server issues, container failures, application logs, network connectivity, storage issues, and configuration problems.
 Perform structured root cause analysis for incidents and recurring operational issues.
 Support corrective and preventive actions following incidents.
 Assist with patching, upgrades, backups, restore checks, certificate renewals, and preventive maintenance.
 Support secret management, credential updates, password rotation, access management, and certificate renewal activities.
 Follow cloud security, least-privilege access, infrastructure security, and compliance practices.
 Support vulnerability, dependency, container, secret, and Infrastructure as Code scanning activities.
 Monitor resource utilization, application health, capacity, deployment status, and operational cost.
 Maintain deployment guides, infrastructure documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and operational checklists.
 Provide regular progress and incident updates to senior team members and management.
 Collaborate with distributed teams, customers, developers, QA teams, and support teams.
 Use AI-assisted tools effectively for troubleshooting, automation, scripting, documentation, and productivity.
 Be willing to work in the EST time zone or provide significant overlap with EST business hours.
Required Technical Skills
Linux Administration
 Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration.
 Experience managing users, groups, permissions, processes, services, logs, disk and memory utilization, package installation, scheduled jobs, and network configuration.
 Working knowledge of SSH, systemd, cron, log rotation, and Linux security practices. Docker and Containerization
 Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Dockerfiles.
 Experience with multi-stage builds and Docker image optimization for size, build time, performance, and security.
 Ability to troubleshoot startup failures, networking, volumes, environment variables, build failures, resource constraints, and application-runtime issues.
 Experience with Docker Compose is preferred.
CI/CD
 Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
 Experience with one or more of GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, or CodePipeline.
 Understanding of build automation, automated testing, security scanning, artifacts, secrets handling, deployment approvals, release management, and rollback procedures.
 Ability to identify and improve slow, unreliable, or repetitive pipeline stages.
Infrastructure as Code and Scripting
 Working knowledge of Terraform and Ansible.
 Strong Shell/Bash scripting skills.
 Basic to intermediate Python scripting skills.
 Ability to automate deployments, backups, monitoring, housekeeping, and routine infrastructure administration.
Cloud Administration
 Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS or Azure.
 AWS exposure may include EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Route 53, ELB, CloudFront, CloudWatch, EventBridge, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, and CI/CD services.
 Azure exposure may include Azure DevOps, Virtual Machines, Container Registry, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspace, Application Insights, networking, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Front Door, Managed Identities, and RBAC.
 Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or Linode will be considered an added advantage.
Monitoring, Networking, Security, and Git
 Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, LogAnalytics Workspace, Application Insights, New Relic, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, or Loki.
 Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, ports, firewalls, routing, load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS, VPNs, and public/private networking.
 Ability to use troubleshooting tools such as curl, ping, traceroute, nslookup, dig, ss, netstat, telnet, and openssl.
 Understanding of IAM, RBAC, least privilege, secrets management, credential rotation, patching, backups, and disaster recovery.
 Strong working knowledge of Git, branching, merge or pull requests, reviews, tags, releases, conflicts, rebase, cherry-pick, protected branches, and access controls.
Application Troubleshooting
 Ability to understand application logs, configuration files, dependencies, build processes, and runtime behavior.
 Working exposure to applications developed in Python, PHP, Java, Node.js, Ruby, or similar technologies.
 The role is not an application-development position, but the candidate should be able to identify infrastructure, configuration, dependency, and runtime-related issues.
Technologies We Are Looking For
 Operating systems and containers: Linux, Docker, and Docker Compose.
 CI/CD platforms: GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bitbucket Pipelines, and AWS CodeBuild/CodeDeploy/CodePipeline.
 Cloud platforms: AWS and/or Microsoft Azure; Google Cloud Platform and Linode exposure is advantageous.
 Infrastructure automation: Terraform, Ansible, Shell/Bash, and Python.
 Monitoring and logging: Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics Workspace, New Relic, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, and Loki.
 Source control and collaboration: Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Jira.

 Web, database, and middleware technologies: Nginx, Apache, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
 Good-to-have container orchestration and GitOps: Kubernetes, Helm, Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Argo CD, and FluxCD.
Good-to-Have Skills
 Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration.
 Basic understanding of Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, Persistent Volumes, and Namespaces.
 Experience deploying or troubleshooting applications on Kubernetes.
 Exposure to Helm charts, resource requests and limits, autoscaling, Kubernetes networking, storage, and monitoring.
 Familiarity with Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, Google Kubernetes Engine, or Linode Kubernetes Engine.
 Familiarity with Argo CD and/or FluxCD and GitOps-based deployments.
 Exposure to DevSecOps tools such as Trivy, SonarQube, OWASP ZAP, Gitleaks, Snyk, or Checkov.
 Basic operational knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Nginx, and Apache.
 Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or similar compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills and Preferred Qualifications
 Good verbal and written English communication skills.
 Strong troubleshooting, analytical, ownership, and documentation skills.
 Ability to work independently with guidance and collaborate with development, QA, security, infrastructure, and customer teams.
 Experience supporting production environments and participating in deployments or incident resolution is preferred.
 AWS and/or Microsoft Azure certifications are preferred. Relevant Linux, Terraform, Docker, or DevOps certifications will be an added advantage.
 Exposure to cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, backup, restore, disaster recovery, and Agile toolssuch as Jira is preferred.
