Job Description
We are looking for a DevOps engineer with a background in Linux systems admin, operations and web application development. We are taking our geospatial applications to the cloud to increase scalability and robustness, streamline workflow and support business growth.
In this central contributing role you will influence architectural decisions, implement and manage cloud deployments, script automations (Bash, Python, etc.), write code (mostly Python) and help move our core product to continuous delivery. The role will grow significantly with the business.
Remote work is possible in Italy or outside Italy. Preference is given to candidates able to work in our office or at least in our timezone (GMT‑1 to GMT+3).
Responsibilities
Creation of continuous delivery chains using Jenkins and other DevOps tools (e.g. GitLab Pipelines)Creation of analytics dashboards based on Elastic StackCreation of monitoring dashboardCoordinate with the development team to improve the delivery process and the robustness of deploymentsManagement and monitoring of continuous delivery processes for clientsPlay the Q&A Engineer role when neededMonitor quality and SLA levels for production deployments; manage and improve support procedures as needed
Qualifications
3+ years experience in a systems admin or operations roleDevOps experience with cloud (mostly AWS, Azure, VMware) architecture and systems operationExperience with DockerExperience with Kubernetes or similar technologiesExperience with managing high traffic and spikes desirableExperience with Python or similar scripting desirableExperience with Jenkins desirableExperience with the Elastic Stack desirableExperience with at least one of Chef/Puppet/Ansible desirablePassion for the internet, open‑source, computing, devicesComfortable working independently while functioning as part of a dynamic teamComfortable solving systemic problems and building long‑term solutionsOpen to developing new ideas and contributing expertise; enjoys challenges and seeks knowledgeCan analyze product requirements, manage tasks and partner with teammates to match deadlinesMotivated, creative, and empowering
