About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps and IT Support Engineer to own our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and internal IT operations. This is a cloud-agnostic role — we work across AWS, Azure, and GCP depending on the project, and we expect you to be comfortable navigating all three. You will design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that powers our products and keeps our teams productive.
Day-to-day, you will split your time between DevOps engineering (~70%) and IT support (~30%). On the DevOps side, you will provision and manage cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code, build automated deployment pipelines, set up monitoring and alerting, and ensure our systems are reliable, secure, and cost-efficient. On the IT side, you will manage employee onboarding and offboarding, administer identity and access management, and support client teams with deployment and environment issues.
You will work closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams. You will collaborate with developers to streamline their workflows, partner with project leads to set up client infrastructure, and be the first responder when something breaks — whether that is a production incident or a new hire who cannot access their tools.
If you are someone who finds satisfaction in automating everything that can be automated, thrives in a multi-cloud environment, and can switch between debugging a Kubernetes deployment and setting up a new employee’s GSuite account without missing a beat — this role is for you.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps
- Own the provisioning, configuration, and management of multi-cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, selecting the right services for each project’s requirements.
- Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code modules using Terraform, Pulumi, CDK, or CloudFormation — ensuring all infrastructure is version-controlled, repeatable, and peer-reviewed.
- Architect and manage container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster provisioning, scaling policies, and resource optimization.
- Implement networking, security, and compliance best practices across all environments — VPCs, IAM policies, secrets management, encryption at rest and in transit.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives by monitoring cloud spend, right-sizing resources, and implementing reserved/spot instance strategies.
CI/CD & Automation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI — automating build, test, and deployment workflows across multiple environments (dev, staging, production).
- Implement GitOps practices and progressive deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling updates) to minimize release risk.
- Automate operational tasks — infrastructure provisioning, environment setup, log rotation, certificate renewal, backup and restore — reducing manual toil.
- Manage environment parity across development, staging, and production to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.
Monitoring, Reliability & Security
- Set up and maintain observability stacks using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or equivalent tools — covering metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
- Define and track SLOs and SLIs for critical services, driving reliability improvements based on data.
- Lead incident response — triage production issues, coordinate resolution, conduct blameless post-mortems, and implement preventive measures.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability scanning, and patch management across infrastructure and services.
Internal IT Administration
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding — provisioning and deprovisioning accounts across Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Notion, Linear, and other internal tools.
- Administer identity and access management using Okta, Azure AD/Entra ID, or Google Workspace Admin — managing SSO, MFA, RBAC, and access reviews.
- Maintain VPN infrastructure and network access policies for the remote workforce.
- Document IT processes, maintain runbooks, and build self-service guides to reduce recurring support requests.
Client Infrastructure Support
- Support client teams with deployment issues, environment provisioning, and infrastructure handoffs.
- Troubleshoot client-facing environment problems — networking issues, access configuration, service connectivity, and deployment failures.
- Partner with project leads to design and stand up client-specific infrastructure aligned with project requirements and security standards.
- Provide clear, timely communication to both internal and external stakeholders during incidents and infrastructure changes.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
- Strong proficiency with at least two of the three major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a working familiarity with the third.
- Production experience with Infrastructure as Code tools — at least one of Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Solid experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) in production environments.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Strong Linux systems administration skills and proficiency with scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools — Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals — DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, VPN, firewalls, and SSL/TLS.
- Experience managing identity and access management — SSO, SAML, OIDC, RBAC, and MFA using platforms like Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace Admin.
- Demonstrated experience with IT administration — employee onboarding/offboarding and access provisioning.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to diagnosing infrastructure and deployment issues.
- Excellent communication skills — ability to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across all three major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) in production.
- Familiarity with multiple IaC tools (e.g., Terraform and Pulumi, or CDK and CloudFormation) and an understanding of their trade-offs.
- Experience with GitOps workflows and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) or API gateway management.
- Familiarity with deploying and managing AI/ML workloads — GPU provisioning, model serving infrastructure, or MLOps pipelines.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) and implementing security controls to meet audit requirements.
- Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, GCP Professional Cloud Engineer, or equivalent).
- Experience with cost management and FinOps practices across multi-cloud environments.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted operations tooling or using LLMs/automation to streamline DevOps and IT workflows.
- Experience supporting client-facing infrastructure in a consulting or agency environment.
- Contributions to open-source infrastructure tools or active participation in DevOps communities.
Benefits
What Success Looks Like
After 90 days, you are the go-to person for all things infrastructure and IT at Ayrin Digital. You have onboarded yourself across our cloud accounts, understood the existing infrastructure landscape, and started making it better. CI/CD pipelines run reliably with minimal manual intervention. New employees get fully provisioned on day one. Production monitoring catches issues before they become incidents. You have documented the critical runbooks, automated at least a few painful manual processes, and built enough trust with the engineering and leadership teams that they come to you first when planning new projects or scaling existing ones. Client infrastructure requests are handled promptly and professionally, and you have started establishing the standards and guardrails that will scale as the company grows.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
