Your new company
Our client is a leading organisation operating within a secure and technically complex environment and is seeking to engage a DevSecOps Engineer on a permanent basis. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to the delivery and sustainment of modern software development platforms, automation capabilities and secure infrastructure that support critical business outcomes.

This role is based in Brisbane and requires a commitment to working onsite 4-5 days per week. Due to the nature of the environment, this position cannot be performed remotely. Brisbane-based candidates are strongly preferred, however applications are welcomed from interstate candidates who are genuinely committed to relocating. Joining a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to the delivery and sustainment of modern software development platforms, automation capabilities and secure infrastructure supporting critical business outcomes.

An NV2 Security Clearance is highly desirable. We also encourage applications from candidates who hold NV1 or Baseline clearances, or Australian Citizens who are eligible and willing to obtain a security clearance.
Your new role
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation and ongoing support of secure software development environments and CI/CD pipelines. Working alongside engineering, infrastructure and security teams, you will help drive automation, improve platform performance and ensure development environments remain secure, scalable and compliant.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines
  • Supporting and optimising secure software development environments
  • Deploying, configuring and maintaining Kubernetes and Docker platforms
  • Developing and supporting GitLab CI/CD workflows and integrations
  • Managing Linux and Windows-based development environments
  • Building and maintaining Ansible automation and configuration management solutions
  • Troubleshooting platform, infrastructure and application issues
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation and configuration records
  • Supporting ongoing platform maintenance, upgrades and continuous improvement activities

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring proven experience within DevSecOps, platform engineering or infrastructure automation environments, along with a strong focus on security, reliability and operational excellence.
Key requirements:

  • CI/CD pipeline design, implementation and support
  • GitLab administration and pipeline development
  • Kubernetes and Docker environments
  • Ansible and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
  • Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu and Red Hat
  • Secure software development environments and DevSecOps practices
  • Technical troubleshooting and performance optimisation
  • Documentation, change management and governance processes

Highly desirable:

  • Defence, government or other highly regulated environments
  • Security governance and compliance frameworks
  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), RHCSA or similar
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related discipline
