DevSecOps Engineer - $1000 + Super - 12 month contract - Sydney Hybrid/WFH
About the role
This is a hands-on DevSecOps role focused on uplifting Secure SDLC practices across cloud and CI/CD environments. You will work closely with platform, cyber and delivery teams to embed security into engineering workflows, improve platform resilience and drive consistent, scalable standards across the business.
Duties/Key responsibilities
- Design and enhance secure CI/CD pipelines with embedded security controls
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Secure and operate Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred)
- Integrate and optimise SAST, DAST and SCA tooling within developer workflows
- Drive adoption of security standards, guardrails and governance across teams
- Secure uplifting Azure Cloud Environment
Skills and experience
- Proven DevSecOps engineering experience with a strong shift-left security mindset
- Deep CI/CD pipeline expertise (Buildkite or similar)
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code capability
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including production support
- Container security knowledge (image scanning, policy enforcement, standardisation)
- Experience with code security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA)
- Solid Azure cloud experience across security, networking and platform services
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on automation-first solutions
- Ability to balance risk, delivery speed and platform stability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
