Job Description

Ensure a safe working environment, safety attitude and execution

Ensure all quality systems are in place, identified and executed, so there are no quality escapes from our facilities

Assist with business development, and business proposals

Accomplish lean manufacturing staffing results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; developing person growth opportunities

Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing, monitoring personnel, equipment, and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions, initiating, and fostering a spirit of cooperation with and between departments

Complete scheduling and assigning of personnel; accomplish desired work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems, reporting results of the project process flow on weekly activity reports.

Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing KIHOMAC organizational procedures and policies

Ensure operation of equipment by establishing and tracking periodic maintenance requirements (TPM), calling for repairs when necessary, evaluating new equipment and techniques

Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests

Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing lean manufacturing change

Maintain 5 S - Safe and Clean Work Environment: Educate and direct personnel on the use of all equipment, tooling, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures

Responsible for KIHOMAC Hazardous Waste Program, to include: disposal of hazardous waste, MSDS maintenance, and all environmental regulations

Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identify solutions, recommend action and documenting in personnel file

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establish personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participate in professional societies

Contribute to team effort by carrying out related results as needed

Identify capital expenditures for 5-year plan and work with management for approval and implementation

Managerial Duties

Responsible to execute personnel-related activities to include:

Create realistic and accurate job descriptions

Direct employee workload to ensure productivity and performance against job description

Engage to manage positive employee relations and workplace atmosphere; work to resolve any personnel issues

Conduct ongoing feedback - both informal and semiannual feedback, counseling if necessary

Advise management as to which employees deserve recognition including but not limited to raises, promotions and awards

Manage accuracy of employee timecards

Ensure employees receive and perform any required training for position and company needs

Guide employees to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies/processes

Serve as link between upper management and employees; disseminate company information as appropriate - goals/changes/updates/news

Coordinate with Director and/or VP on corporate matters

Participate in proposal writing and business development activities as guided by VP of PMG

Other managerial duties as assigned

Requirements Education/Training (both required and desired):

Bachelor's Degree in management or other relevant discipline required

Experience:

5+ years in Production Management in a composite, machining, or metal fabrication facility or equivalent Production experience

Security:

Must be a US citizen

Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery

Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls

Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements

Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery

Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task

Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
