Senior Dispatch & Logistics Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily dispatch schedules for precast elements as per site erection sequence.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Site Teams for timely material movement.
- Manage yard inventory and ensure accurate tracking of finished precast components.
- Monitor storage, stacking, identification, and traceability of precast elements.
- Ensure QA/QC-approved elements are released for dispatch.
- Manage fleet allocation, trailer scheduling, and transportation planning.
- Coordinate with transport vendors and logistics service providers.
- Supervise loading, unloading, rigging, and crane operations within the yard.
- Ensure safe loading, securing, and transportation of precast components.
- Optimize trailer turnaround time (TAT) and dispatch efficiency.
- Conduct route assessments and ensure compliance with transport regulations.
- Verify delivery challans, gate passes, weighbridge slips, and dispatch documentation.
- Perform inventory reconciliation of cast, stored, and dispatched materials.
- Monitor dispatch KPIs and prepare daily/weekly MIS reports.
- Lead and manage Dispatch Supervisors, Yard Foremen, and Logistics Staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during lifting and transportation activities.
- Resolve operational bottlenecks affecting dispatch and logistics performance.
- Coordinate with crane operators and rigging teams for heavy lifting activities.
- Maintain ERP, inventory trackers, and logistics records.
- Drive continuous improvement in yard operations, dispatch planning, and logistics processes.
Requirements
Requirements – Senior Dispatch & Logistics Engineer
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Logistics Management.
- 5–8 years of experience in Dispatch, Logistics, Yard Operations, or Material Management.
- Preferred minimum 3 years of experience in Precast Concrete, Heavy Civil, Infrastructure, or Structural Manufacturing projects.
- Hands-on experience in precast yard inventory management and dispatch planning.
- Strong knowledge of trailer operations, fleet management, and transportation logistics.
- Experience in coordinating heavy lifting, rigging, and crane loading activities.
- Ability to read structural drawings, element schedules, and erection plans.
- Knowledge of inventory tracking systems, ERP software, RFID, barcoding, and Excel.
- Experience in managing transport vendors, drivers, and logistics contractors.
- Familiarity with delivery challans, gate passes, weighbridge slips, and dispatch documentation.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to lifting, loading, and transportation.
- Excellent coordination, planning, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in managing dispatch supervisors, yard foremen, and logistics teams.
- Willingness to work at project/site locations and handle large-scale yard operations.
