Document Controller – Main Contractor | Zone 1, London
Were hiring on behalf of an established main contractor based in Zone 1, London, currently looking for an experienced Document Controller to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-driven document control professional to take ownership of information management across live construction projects, working closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and site teams from pre-construction through to handover.
The Role
- Managing and controlling project documentation across multiple live sites
- Administering the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), including onboarding and training new users
- Managing RFIs, drawings, technical submissions and subcontractor documentation
- Maintaining document and drawing registers with strict version control and audit compliance
- Supporting procurement and commercial processes, including tender documentation and subcontractor packages
- Coordinating O&M manuals and project handover documentation
- Attending client and commercial meetings, preparing minutes and tracking actions
- Liaising between consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to support programme delivery
What Were Looking For
- Proven experience as a Document Controller within a main contractor or construction environment
- Strong working knowledge of EDMS platforms (e.g. Asite, Viewpoint, or similar)
- Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising across design, commercial and site teams
- Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently
The Details
- Location: Zone 1, London – split between office and site
- Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Based in London 5 days a week (no WFH)
- Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
