Offshorly is an AI-fuelled digital agency that pairs cost-effective, outsourced delivery teams with experienced UK management. We are looking for a mid-level Drupal Developer to build, maintain, and evolve client websites and web applications on modern Drupal.
This role centres on
Drupal 11 — the current major version — with an eye on the upcoming Drupal 12 (late 2026) and the migration of any remaining Drupal 10 sites ahead of their end-of-life. You will work across the stack: from configuration, module development, and integrations on the back end, to Twig theming on the front end, within a Composer-based, standards-driven workflow.
Note on tech currency: We build on actively supported Drupal (11.x today), use Recipes and Composer-managed dependencies, and keep sites current with security releases. Legacy Drupal 7/9 experience is welcome context, but this role is focused on modern Drupal, not legacy maintenance.
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop, customise, and maintain Drupal 11 websites and web applications for UK and international clients.
  • Build custom modules and extend functionality using Drupal’s object-oriented PHP framework and Symfony components.
  • Implement front-end designs with Twig templating and the Drupal asset library system, ensuring responsive, accessible output.
  • Configure sites using modern Drupal tooling — configuration management, Recipes, and Composer-based dependency workflows.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs (REST/JSON:API) with Drupal back ends.
  • Apply security updates and keep sites on supported Drupal releases; support Drupal 10-to-11 (and, in time, 11-to-12) upgrades.
  • Write clean, testable, well-documented code that follows Drupal coding standards and industry best practice.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other developers in an Agile delivery process.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
Essential skills & experience:
  • 3+ years of hands-on Drupal development — including at least commercial experience on Drupal 9, 10, or 11.
  • Strong PHP (8.3+) — and a solid grasp of object-oriented programming.
  • Custom module development — and use of Drupal’s APIs, hooks, and plugin/service architecture.
  • Twig theming — and front-end fundamentals (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Composer-based workflow — managing dependencies, core, and contrib modules the modern way.
  • Database proficiency — with MySQL/MariaDB, including views and query optimisation.
  • Version control — with Git in a collaborative, branch-based workflow.
  • Understanding of Drupal security — and the discipline of keeping sites on supported, patched releases.
  • Good written English — and clear communication in a remote, UK-managed team.
