We are currently looking for "Data Migration Lead" - Remote Job Title: Data Lead Data Migration (Insurance Domain) Experience: 10+ Years Location: Remote Independent candidates prefered Skills Required- Data Lead: Python, ETL, GCP, Customer facing, Implemented solutions for large-scale structured and semi-structured data processing, Data migration, insurance domain Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to drive large-scale data migration initiatives for an enterprise insurance client. This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring active engagement with client stakeholders to shape migration strategies, drive decision-making, and ensure successful execution. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end migration from legacy systems to modern platforms, leveraging data engineering expertise and AI-driven approaches to significantly accelerate migration timelines while ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance. Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Engagement & Stakeholder Management (Critical) Act as the primary data lead interfacing with customer stakeholders, including business, IT, and leadership teams. Actively participate in client discussions, workshops, and design sessions to define migration scope, strategy, and roadmap. Translate business requirements into scalable technical data solutions. Provide thought leadership and advise customers on best practices, risks, and optimization strategies. Clearly communicate progress, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans. 2. Data Migration Leadership Lead end-to-end data migration strategy, planning, and execution from legacy insurance systems to modern platforms. Define and drive migration approaches (re-platforming, transformation, phased migration, etc.). Ensure minimal business disruption and high data integrity. 3. Data Engineering & Architecture Design and implement scalable data pipelines and frameworks using Python, SQL, and ETL tools. Architect solutions for large-scale structured and semi-structured data processing. Establish robust frameworks for data validation, reconciliation, and transformation. 4. AI-Driven Migration Acceleration Leverage AI/ML and Generative AI techniques to: Automate data mapping and schema conversion Identify anomalies and improve data quality Accelerate testing, validation, and reconciliation Optimize migration workflows using intelligent automation to reduce overall timeline significantly. 5. Cloud & Technology Implementation Build and deploy solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP): BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Composer Develop cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines and integration solutions. Ensure scalability, security, and cost efficiency. 6. Data Governance & Quality Define and enforce data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks. Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements. Establish reconciliation mechanisms and audit readiness. 7. Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts. Drive technical excellence and delivery quality. Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to standards. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills Strong expertise in: Python (mandatory) SQL (advanced level) ETL/ELT frameworks Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP): BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage Strong foundation in: Data modeling (dimensional & normalized) Data warehousing Distributed data processing Customer-Facing & Leadership Skills Proven experience in customer-facing roles, interacting directly with enterprise clients Ability to lead discussions, influence decisions, and drive consensus Strong communication, presentation, and consulting skills Experience working with cross-functional and global teams AI & Automation Experience using AI/ML or GenAI to improve data engineering or migration processes Understanding of automation frameworks for data validation and transformation Domain Experience Experience in Insurance domain (policy, claims, underwriting, billing) is highly preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience with data migration frameworks/tools Knowledge of data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, etc.) Familiarity with DataOps / CI-CD practices GCP / Data Engineering / AI certifications OpenKyber is an Equal Opportun ity/Affirmative Action Employer.
