We're looking for an EHS Engineer to design, implement, and manage our safety, health, and environmental programs in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. This role ensures full compliance with Mexican regulations ( NOM, STPS, PROFEPA, SEMARNAT ) and aims to create a safe, healthy, and responsible workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure adherence to Mexican EHS regulations, conducting internal and external audits.
- Risk Management : Identify hazards, assess risks, and develop preventive measures and emergency plans.
- Training & Development : Design and deliver EHS training on safety, hazardous materials, PPE, and first aid.
- Incident Investigation : Lead investigations into workplace incidents, determining root causes and implementing preventative actions.
- Environmental Stewardship : Oversee waste disposal, chemical handling, emissions reduction, and promote sustainability initiatives.
- Safety Culture : Foster employee participation and promote safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Documentation & Reporting : Maintain EHS records, prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies, and manage permit documentation.
- Facility Support : Manage factory utilities, office supplies, environment maintenance, vehicle dispatch, employee transportation, food services, dormitories, nurses, and security.
Qualifications:
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Environmental, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience : At least 2 years in a similar EHS role, preferably within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Language : Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency.
- Certifications (preferred) : Industrial Safety or Occupational Health and Safety certifications recognized in Mexico (e.g., CSP, OHST).
- Key Knowledge :
- In-depth understanding of Mexican EHS regulations (NOM, STPS, SEMARNAT) .
- Experience with EHS management systems , hazardous materials handling, waste management, and emissions control.
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and regulatory submissions.
- Skills : Strong ability to conduct risk assessments, develop corrective actions, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per month
