EHS Supervisor

This is a hands-on EHS Supervisor role supporting a manufacturing site, with responsibility for both safety and environmental compliance. The position is floor-focused, working closely with the team & leadership, driving a strong safety culture, leading EHS programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Theyre looking for someone who can own the safety program, environmental compliance, and serve as the sites EHS expert.

Reporting to the Mill General Manager, the EHS Supervisor directs and coordinates the safety and environmental initiatives for the facility. Duties and responsibilities include all aspects of safety and health, including evaluating site processes and equipment to determine controls needed to keep workers safe. Also ensures compliance and reporting of all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

What you will do:

  • Support team members and leadership in identifying workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents, and the development of safety programs.
  • Lead site EHS programs and continuous improvement in environmental and safety initiatives.
  • Support the General Manager with claims management and safety-related matters.
  • Assist facility leaders with incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA General Industry standards and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, environmental permits, and company policies.
  • Facilitate EHS training and employee development programs.
  • Monitor safety metrics, leading indicators, and progress toward site EHS goals.
  • Maintain accurate EHS reporting, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Utilize the site's safety management system to track incidents, actions, and compliance activities - safety tracking system Intelex.
  • Provide triage and first aid in the event of injury to a Team Member or contractor.
  • Support health screening programs, hearing conservation efforts, OSHA recordkeeping, and other employee health initiatives.
  • Spend significant time on the production floor interacting with employees, identifying hazards, and supporting safe work practices.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Title V facilities and the EPA Clean Air Act, including stormwater, wastewater, and waste management acumen.
  • Lead safety and environmental processes by example.
  • Partner with regional environmental resources to ensure ongoing compliance and program effectiveness.

Minimum qualifications you will need:

  • EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Title V facilities and the EPA Clean Air Act, including stormwater, wastewater, and waste management acumen.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of facilitating a successful EH&S program.
  • Ability to present and train team members.
  • Must be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate effective leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams.
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
