Electronics Assembler (Soldering)
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Assembler (Soldering) in Fort Walton Beach, FL for a contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to learn electronics soldering and begin a career in defense manufacturing. You will assemble, wire, and solder electronic components and subassemblies while working from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions in a controlled manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to use hand crimping tools and other hand tools
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive assembly tasks
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds
- Ability to read and follow layout diagrams, schematics, wire prints, and verbal or written instructions
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when needed
- Drug screen and background check required
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- J-STD-001 soldering experience or certification
What You'll Do
- Assemble, wire, and solder electronic components, circuit cards, and subassemblies in accordance with J-STD-001
- Modify, fabricate, and build equipment and assemblies using engineering drawings and work instructions
- Install components on chassis, circuit boards, panels, and other assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment
- Route and attach wires and connectors to complete electronic circuitry
- Perform assembly processes including wiring, epoxy bonding, potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, stamping, etching, and color coding
- Assemble wire cable assemblies and install functional and cosmetic hardware
- Install finished assemblies into cases, cabinets, vans, ships, and test beds as directed
- Prepare production machinery and equipment using visual aids, drawings, and written instructions
- Perform other related duties as assigned while maintaining quality and safety standards
