Responsibilities
- Design electrical and electronic components, systems and equipment
- Investigate electrical or electronic failures
- Write specifications and technical reports
- Replace faulty components
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics and blueprints
- Troubleshoot problems related to equipment
- Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Develop and conduct design verification simulations and prototype bench tests of components
- Identifying and investigating compliance issues
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
