Job Opening: Embedded Linux / Dev Ops Developer (Azure Dev Ops) | Freelance | Remote Position
Description: We are looking for a senior professional with experience in embedded Linux and Azure Dev Ops to take on a strategic role in organizing our development processes.
The main responsibility of this position will be to structure and manage the company's Azure Dev Ops environment, organizing projects, pipelines, permissions, and workflows, allowing technical leaders to efficiently deliver their own projects.
In addition, the professional will work technically on a new project involving the development of an edge device with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) functionalities, based on embedded Linux (Torizon OS). We are looking for someone with a hybrid profile (technical and organizational) capable of bringing clarity, standardization, and best practices to the team, with a practical development vision.
Responsibilities:
● Structure and manage the company's Azure Dev Ops environment (organizations, projects, users, and permissions); Define and implement workflows (boards, sprints, backlog, etc.);
● Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for different projects;
● Support technical leaders in organizing and executing their sprints;
● Establish best practices for versioning, branching, and continuous integration;
● Provide technical support in the development of embedded Linux systems when necessary;
● Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams on industrial systems projects; Mandatory Requirements:
● Solid experience with Azure Dev Ops (administration, pipelines, boards, and project management);
● Previous experience structuring Dev Ops environments for development teams;
● Strong knowledge of embedded Linux;
● Experience with low-level development (C/C++), interaction with hardware or embedded systems;
● Experience with Git and versioning strategies;
● Ability to organize processes and work on multiple projects simultaneously;
● Advanced or fluent English (communication with an international team);
Key differentiators:
● Experience with Yocto / Torizon OS;
● Knowledge of industrial systems (PLC, industrial protocols, etc.);
● Experience with containers (Docker);
● Experience in embedded hardware environments;
● 8–12 years total software engineering experience.
● 5+ years with Embedded Linux.
● 5+ years with Azure Dev Ops administration and CI/CD.
● Experience creating Dev Ops standards from scratch.
● Strong C/C++ background.
● Experience with industrial or hardware-integrated systems.
● Comfortable acting as both an individual contributor and a technical process leader.
