We are looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer for Nextpower in Valencia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Use the official UTI-SW code development, version control, and code documentation tools.
  • Use collaborative work tools in accordance with the QoS plan
  • Execute SW development processes in accordance with QoS .
  • Follow the SW working methodology, as defined in QoS.
  • Responsibility for the quality of the software they develop
  • Responsibility for meeting development deadlines agreed upon in the Sprint Planning .
  • Responsibility for reviewing and approving code merges in GitLab, and compliance with code versioning rules, collaborative work in GitLab and ticket management in Redmine, in accordance with QoS.

JOB FUNCTIONS :

Usual/Daily:

  • Maintenance and improvement of existing applications
  • Backend software development
  • Implementation and maintenance of security measures, including firewalls, encryption, authentication, and authorization

Periodic/Occasional:

  • Participation in Sprint Planning , Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
  • Support to other departments.
  • Analysis and testing at customer facilities in cases of support to other departments.
  • Training, supervision and mentoring of less experienced members.

Required Qualification & Experience

Engineering or university degree in a science field

Mandatory: Fluent English and Spanish (written and spoken), other European languages are a plus.

  • Experience (6-10 year of experience as an embedded software developer)
  • Solid knowledge and experience modifying the Linux kernel
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the Python programming language
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the C programming language
  • Knowledge of the Flask backend development framework
  • Knowledge of the Vue.js frontend development framework
  • Knowledge of communication networks (TCP, Modbus)
  • Experience in configuring and deploying Docker containers
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, LDAP, RBAC, etc.)
  • Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM) and version control (Git)

Skills:

  • Ability to define SW architectures for complex products.
  • Ability to define SW specifications from very high level or even non-existent requirements for new products.
  • High-level requirements analysis.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Dynamism in the execution of the work.
